What I did today (filming)

Today my group filmed our commercial. We are making a commericial for abc mouse.com. We decided that i would be beset to film rthe scenes. I looked at the rubirc and made sure we were covering all the critiria included. I used many diffrent camera shots. I also used a pan movement multiple times. We strated to film outdoors in the senior patio. However, we had to move to the media center. When we got to the senior patio i made some of the props needed and brought out the storyboard. I then read the story board to my group to make sure we knew what we were doing. I recorde the first couple takes, befire another member of my group relized hte lighting outside was not good. So, we moved in doors to the media center. We reoeated the first couple steps there. I recorded all of the film that i was not acting in. I only had one scene whee i handed trevor my computer, and explained what abc mouse was. After recording all the videos i trimmed them on placed tehm next to each other on my phone. I added a voice over where we show the abc mouse home screen to further exaplin the product. We as a group decided what music we woudl use. I then edited the clips together and added the music. We created a sort of rough draft for our commercial. Tommrow we will spend more time on editing and making the best commercial we can.

the last step is peer review. Now that i finshed editing all i had to do was get feedback, and fix what needed to be fixed. teh first people that wastched was my group. Naturaly. Then i showed my parents. Then lastly my friends. And my friends parents. the reception was great. But i encourageed them to be more honest. There were some easy fixes. One of them was the score. It was a little lackluster. Becuase i never got the rights to the song i wanted to use it was a struggle. I had to look through royalty free music. BUt it all seemed so bland. Like an ad. not a movie.SO i went back and looked more. I decied that the score with the use of no sound. And diegetic noises i could create more emotion. I finshed up editing and showed them once again. Much better.

Genre conventions: Shutter island

- For the thriller genre option, Shutter Island uses extremely wide shots to show where the film is taking place. They use wide shots to show multiple people walking at a certain time. The mid shot shows the character looking directly at you. The high angle shows them walking through the rain. The low level shows the contrast between the colors. Leonardo DiCaprio dresses in a detective outfit containing a trench coat and a tie. In this movie, Scorsese uses the dark lighting in the scene to symbolize the characters. The makeup in the film shutter island is mainly used to emphasize the expressions on their face. Major props to films that still use miniature models like this rather than purely CGI it up. It's noticeably in higher quality most of the time. The setting for shutter Island is mainly set in building ward C. Genre Conventions: The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight - A common camera camera angle used is a close up. Close ups like in the scene where the joker is being interogated, or when the detective is leaving the room. This shows emotion is the charcters. Another common angle used is the dutch tilt. THis creates a sense of uneasiness for the audience and foreshadows to what might happen next. Over the shoulders shots are commonly used to. They show equality between the charcter, adn even though they are fighting, they are equal to each other. The lighting used is dark, creating a menacing and dangerous mood symbolizing the jokers character to the audience. Batman was dressed in his superhero coastume which is all black to create fear, adn whn he was not wearing his batman costume, he was wearing a dark suit, to still keep the dar mood.
